Successful field experiences are vital to becoming an effective educator. The Office of Accreditation, Placement, and Licensure works with your program and placement sites to arrange field experiences, ensure compliance, and assist in data analysis.

The Placement Process

All placement decisions are made by the Program Representative and APL, in consultation with appropriate faculty members. After a placement is requested by a program, it goes through a series of approvals. The diagram below shows the steps in the process.

Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities will be administered in compliance with the law as of June 27, 2025.
